However, few people know about a secret US program that kidnapped and imprisoned Japanese Peruvians, taken from Peru to the US. As the controversy over the failed US response to give relief to Puerto Rico continues to unfold, almost no coverage has been given to the 100,000+ Americans in the USVI.
