Carlos Ron is the Venezuelan Vice Minister for North America and the President of the Simon Bolivar Institute para la Paz y la Solidaridad entre los Pueblos.

Oil has been discovered in Guyana. Will it bring the same problems to Guyana regarding the environment, labor rights, political corruption, and a new wave of corporate colonialism? Shanya Cordis is an assistant professor of Sociocultural Anthropology in the department of Sociology & Anthropology @ Spellman College in Atlanta, Ga. Sherlina Nageer is a local Guyanese activist based in Georgetown and a member of Red Thread.
