Don Fitz returns to the LMC to discuss the latest on Cuba’s response to the Coronavirus when compared to the disastrous response in the US. Don Fitz is a member of the editorial board for Green Social Thought and the newsletter editor for the Green Party of St. Louis, MO. He’s also the author of a new book entitled, “Cuban Health Care: The Ongoing Revolution.”
While the deaths caused by the Coronavirus pandemic in Latin America is tragic by any measure; the number of deaths in Ecuador along with the governments horrid response has been particularly tragic for the whole world to see. So on this episode, the LMC speaks with former Ecuadorian government minister Guillaume Long on the tragic chain of events that has led to huge numbers of Coronavirus deaths in Ecuador. Guillaume Long is currently a senior policy analyst for the Center for Economic & Policy Research.

Angela Stuesse is a Cultural Anthropologist @ the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She is also the author of, “Scratching Out a Living: Latinos, Race, and Work in the Deep South.”
