Following the assassination of Afro-Brazilian rights activist & politician Marielle Franco in March, the LMC speaks with Professor Jaime Alves about the life, legacy, and the fight against institutionalized racism in Brazil. Jaime Alves is an assistant professor at the College of Staten Island, NY and the author of, “The Anti-Black City: Police Terror & Black Urban Life in Brazil.”
