Sept 21st, 2018: Argentina Women’s Futbol

On this episode, the LMC shines the spotlight on the struggle for gender equality in Argentina women’s futbol. Despite a lack of support, institutional sexism, and hazardous training conditions, Argentina’s women’s national team are still close to reaching next year’s Women’s World Cup. So we speak with Gabriela Garton, goalkeeper for Argentina’s national team, and Nemesia Hijo, assistant professor of Social Anthropology @ the University of Buenos Aires.

On this episode, the LMC speaks with Sabrina Fernandes about the struggle for reproductive rights in Brazil as the religious right continues its plan to eliminate Brazil’s limited abortion laws. Sabrina Fernandes is a PhD in Sociology from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. She is also the host of the YouTube channel, Tese Onze.
